Taxol is a drug that is effective for many cancers including breast and lung to name two. It works very well at killing brain tumor cells in a dish, but lacks the ability to get across the blood brain barrier to work effectively in patients. This study utilizes a 15 amnio acid peptide which is a ligand for a receptor that actively transports across the blood brain barrier, as well as into certain tumor cells like glioblastoma. The peptide has three molecules of taxol conjugated. |
