		Treatment Name:		A Pilot Study to Evaluate the Effects of Vaccinations with HLA-A2-Restricted Glioma Antigen-Peptides in Combination with Poly-ICLC for Adults with High-Risk WHO Grade II Astrocytomas and Oligo-Astrocytomas

		Min Karnofsky Score:		60: Requires occasional assistance but is able to care for most of own needs

		Conditions:		Prior Surgery is Allowed Prior Radiation is Allowed Prior Chemotherapy is Not Allowed Male or female adults (18 years of age or older) who have been diagnosed with WHO grade 2 astrocytoma or oligo-astrocytoma. Participants may have post-op (or post-biopsy) radiation therapy prior to this study, but previous chemotherapy is not allowed. Complete eligibility assessments will be made after candidates sign on the consent form.

		Tumor Types:		Low Grade Glioma Mixed Glioma


		Comments:		Participating patients will have injections (just under the skin) of the vaccine every 3 weeks (Weeks 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 21) in the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Participating patients will receive the Poly-ICLC injection (into a muscle in your arm or leg) on the same day as each vaccine and again 4 days after each vaccine. If patients` immune system responds to the vaccine and Poly-ICLC, and the tumor has not progressed with no serious side effects, such patients may receive additional vaccines and injections starting between Weeks 34 and 40. These additional vaccines and injections will be given in the same way, but will now occur every 12 weeks instead of every 3 weeks, for for up to 2 years from the day of the first vaccine and Poly-ICLC injection as long as the tumor does not progress with no major side effects.
